AT&T has said that its Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy S II Skyrocket will receive upgrades to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but save for a vague "in the coming months" timeframe, the carrier has yet to say when those updates will be coming. If you own one of those handsets and don't feel like waiting any longer for a taste of ICS, you now have another option. Leaked versions of the Android 4.0 updates for both devices have surfaced over at RootzWiki, bringing with them a TouchWizzed version of ICS and the new multitasking method found in Android 4.0. Users will also gain access to Android 4.0-specific apps like the Chrome Beta.
Obviously installing a leaked Android 4.0 ROM isn't something that everyone is comfortable doing, and that's ok. If your Galaxy S II or Galaxy S II Skyrocket is working fine and you don't mind waiting a little longer for an official Ice Cream Sandwich update from AT&T and Samsung, you can just keep on keepin' on.
