Several folks, our own Aaron Baker included, got to spend some time with the HTC One X when it was introduced at Mobile World Congress last month. Now it seems that a new group of people are getting to know the One X, as a poster named Phonegeek at the Android Central forums is an AT&T tester and is busy putting HTC's new flagship through its paces. Phonegeek took a few snaps of the One X both by itself and next to an HTC Inspire 4G (spoiler: The One X is thinner), and then shared some of his initial impressions of the device. He says that the One X feels good and is lightweight but doesn't feel cheap. He's disappointed both by the lack of a microSD slot to supplement the One X's 16GB storage and the non-removable battery, though he does say that battery life is "really good" compared to other LTE-enabled Android devices he's used.
The HTC One X was also put through a couple of benchmarks, and the 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4-powered handset performed pretty well. In both the Vellamo browser test and the Quadrant benchmark, the One X bested all comers, including the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
So when might you get to your hands on the HTC One X? AT&T has only said that it'll be launching "in the coming months," but Phonegeek anticipates that it could be arriving sometime in mid-May (though that could change). That gives everyone another month and a half or so to save their pennies for the AT&T One X and its still-unannounced price tag.
