If it feels like it's been a while since we've seen a new high-end HTC handset on Sprint, well, that's because it has been. However, a new report from the folks at Pocketnow claims that HTC's got something pretty nice in the pipeline for the Now Network. According to a "trusted source" of the site's, HTC is cooking up a large handset that's codenamed "Jewel" and not only features an HD display like the one found on the One X, but also packs in LTE connectivity. No details on the Jewel's other specs or potential launch date were given.
Sounds like a pretty spiffy device so far. We've seen HTC and Sprint team up on some nice handsets in the past, including the EVO 4G and EVO 3D, so it makes sense that the two would get together again to create a new handset to help celebrate the arrival of Sprint's upcoming LTE network. It's kind of a bummer that we don't yet know much else about the device, but Pocketnow points out that the EVO 3D debuted at last year's spring CTIA event, so it's possible that we could see the Jewel at the upcoming CTIA event in early May. We'll be sure to keep you Sprint folk posted on any other details on the Jewel as we get them.
