Heads up, U.S. Cellular customers: Samsung's Galaxy S II is coming your way. Today U.S. Cellular announced that the Galaxy S II is "coming soon" to its network for $229.99 with a two-year contract and $100 mail-in rebate. Specs for U.S. Cellular's GSII variant include a 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.2GHz dual-core Exynos C210 processor, 8-megapixel camera, 2-megapixel front-facing shooter, 16GB storage, 1,800mAh battery and support for the carrier's 3G network. On the software side of things, this version of the Galaxy S II will come packing Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Swype when it hits store shelves.
So there's your Galaxy S II, U.S. Cellular folk. We may not know the exact launch date of the Galaxy S II just yet, and its lack of LTE support is kind of a bummer, but we're still glad to see that the GSII is headed to USCC to help flesh out the carrier's high-end Android lineup.
