Good news, BlackBerry PlayBook owners! Earlier this week a rumor began circulating about the PlayBook OS 2.0 update, claiming that the new software would finally be touching down on February 21st, aka next Tuesday. Now that rumored date has gotten more support thanks to a document leaked to the folks at Engadget. As you can see up above, the doc shows that PlayBook OS 2.0 will become available for download in the wee hours of the morning (for some place, anyway) on the 21st.
The PlayBook OS 2.0 update is slated to be a big one for owners of RIM's 7-inch tablet, bringing with it native calendar, contacts and email apps along with several other improvements. So far RIM has only said that the update will be hitting PlayBooks sometime in February, but an arrival on the 21st is looking more and more likely as we inch closer to Tuesday. Obviously we'll let you know more than we do, but it may not be a bad idea for you PlayBook folk to have your tablet juiced up and your party hats on once February 21st rolls around.
