Fujitsu is a name that likely few mobile phone buyers in the U.S., especially those that don't obsess over the devices on a daily basis, are really aware of. The company hopes that that'll change in the future, though, as Senior Executive Vice President Hideyuki Saso has told All Things D that the company sees North America as a "priority market." Fujitsu currently offers both Android and Windows Phone handsets in Japan. Saso said that Fujitsu hopes to enter the market either in either late 2012 or early 2013 and, although it's not yet totally sure how it plans to attack the U.S. market, the firm knows that it needs to be unique. "We don’t want to be just another mobile phone. We want to be special," Saso explained.
The window of time that Fujitsu estimates that it'll be entering the U.S. market is still a ways off, but it's still kind of exciting to hear that the company wants to make an impact in North America. Fujitsu is known for creating some super thin handsets that are also sometimes waterproof, like the 6.7mm thick ARROWS ES IS12F that you see above, so it should be interesting to see what we'll be seeing out of the firm when its devices finally breach U.S. shores. Stay tuned!
