Smartphones are only getting bigger, thinner and more advanced with every passing moment. Huawei's latest, the Ascend P1 S, which was announced just a few hours ago, is a testament to that. Much like Motorola boasted when they announced the DROID RAZR, Huawei now holds the title for making the thinnest smartphone in the world. The P1 S is a mere 6.68mm thick and touts the typical specs we've learned to expect in a high-end device: 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 processor, SGX 540 GPU, 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display with Corning's Gorilla Glass, 1,800mAh battery, 5.1 Dolby surround sound, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p video recording, 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM and Ice Cream Sandwich.
Is it enough out of Huawei to challenge the stiff, ever-evolving, ever-advancing competition? I had some hands-on time with the P1 S and P1 (which look exactly the same, save for a 1mm thickness difference) and while it's hard to say for sure after a few short minutes, we will know more after it starts launching in April. Until then, you can enjoy this gallery of the P1 S. Oh, and give us your thoughts below!
