We're just a few short days away from CES, and although most folks have yet to even set foot in Vegas, Toshiba is already promising to trump other tablet manufacturers with its upcoming slate. According to a press release issued by Toshiba, the company will show off the world's thinnest and lightest 10.1-inch tablet at the big show. No other details were mentioned, but the two claims that've already been made about the mystery tablet are probably enough to pique the interest of many folks until next week.
If 10.1 inches is a tad too large for your taste, Toshiba may have another slate in the works that could be more your speed. Some leaked information sent to Notebook Italia show that Toshiba is prepping a 7-inch Android tablet (shown above) that should be pretty easy on your wallet. The slate is said to be packing a 7-inch display at a resolution of 1024x600 as well as a Snapdragon processor and the usual array of ports and slots, like microUSB and microSD. No availability details are known.
Toshiba looks to be going after both ends of the tablet spectrum here with a low-end, affordable 7-inch device and a 10.1-inch model that's sure to be a bit more bleeding edge. Whether or not either device will be able to capture more popularity than Toshiba's previous tablet offerings and be worth your hard-earned cash remains to be seen, but with CES going down in just a few days, it may not be long before we get answers to our questions. In the mean time, you can check out more shots of Toshiba's 7-inch slate right here.
