The LG Spectrum was the star of a few leaks last month, including a couple of photo sets that offered an early peek at Verizon's Revolution successor. The Spectrum is making leaky headlines once again today, but if this latest batch of information is correct, it won't be long before the handset makes the jump from "leaky and unannounced" to "legit and official." According to some documents sent to Droid-Life, the Spectrum will be landing on store shelves on January 19th, which just so happens to be two weeks from now. The docs made no mention of how much the Spectrum might cost when it arrives. However, we do have a list of specs for the device that seemingly confirm what we've heard in the past:
- 4.5-inch (329 ppi) True HD IPS display, made with Gorilla Glass
- 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S3 processor
- 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, 1080p video capture
- 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter
- 4GB built-in storage, 16GB microSD card preinstalled
- 1GB RAM
- 4G LTE mobile hotspot support for up to 10 devices
- 1,830mAh battery
- Android 2.3 beneath a custom LG interface
The LG Spectrum will also come out of the box packing some special "HD" apps, such as Netflix HD, and HD content within the ESPN ScoreCenter app. Overall I'd say that the Spectrum is shaping up to not only be a respectable follow-up to the Revolution, but also a decent 4G LTE handset in its own right. Of course, we'll have to spend some quality time with the Spectrum before making any final judgments. And with CES happening next week, that hands-on time may not be too far off.
