Looks like the HTC Jetstream and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 will soon be getting a new LTE tablet brother on AT&T's shelves. A new leak has revealed the Pantech Element, an 8-inch Android tablet that's reportedly set to launch on January 8th with Android 3.2 Honeycomb and 4G LTE in tow. In addition to the 8-inch display and Honeycomb, the Element is said to be packing a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel camera, 1080p HD video capture, 2-megapixel front-facing shooter with 720p video calling, 16GB of storage, special "Piezo Motor" haptic feedback, and a waterproof rating of IP57, which means that the slate should hold up to some splashing here and there. Pricing for the Pantech-made tablet will allegedly be set at $299.99 with a two-year contract or $449.99 sans commitment.
It's good to see AT&T continue to flesh out its LTE-capable tablet lineup, especially considering that the Pantech Element will be a bit easier on the wallet than the Jetstream and Tab 8.9, which are currently going for $599.99 and $479.99 on contract, respectively. Now we just want to see AT&T's LTE network in more places. There's no word yet on when or where we might see an AT&T LTE expansion, but with CES just around the corner, expect to hear more about the LTE network and the Pantech Element soon. Stay tuned!
