Samsung made some waves in the Android ocean last week when it revealed that it wouldn't be updating the original Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab to Ice Cream Sandwich, but now it seems that the company may be taking a second look at that decision. A report out of Korean site ajnews claims that Samsung is reevaluating whether or not an Android 4.0 update is possible on both devices in response to the legions of customers hungry for a taste of ICS. The company reiterated its stance that the limited storage space on the Galaxy S and Tab would make it difficult for an update to be squeezed onto them, but that it would look into ways to make an upgrade happen.
As I mentioned before, HTC faced a similar situation earlier this year when it said that the Desire wouldn't be updated to Gingerbread because of a lack of memory. The company ultimately reversed its decision and brought the update to the Desire by cutting select apps from the software. Whether or not Samsung will follow in HTC's footsteps and make an update happen remains to be seen, but such a move would sure make the millions and millions of Galaxy S owners happy. We'll let you know more as we get it.
