The Wi-Fi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is already available at a number of fine electronics retailers, but today Cricket announced that it would be joining that group by offering the Tab 10.1 as well as a bundle with the slate itself and a mobile hotspot. Beginning December 16th, Cricket will offer the 16GB Tab 10.1 at its company-owned stores for $499.99. If you'd prefer to use your Wi-Fi-dependent slate on the go, though, Cricket will also be selling a package that includes the aforementioned 16GB Tab 10.1 and a Crosswave mobile hotspot device for $594.99. The Crosswave has a microSD slot as well as an 1150mAh battery, and the service for the hotspot will set you back either $45 per month for 2.5GB of "Best Speed" data, $55 for 5GB of data, or $65 for 7GB of data. Cricket says that exceeding that monthly limit may result in reduced speeds but that you'll never be cut off completely or charged an overage.
So yeah. As I said before, Cricket is joining a rather large group of retailers that already offers the Galaxy Tab 10.1, but hey, we're not going to complain about having another place to get our Android tablet fix at. Plus there's Cricket's Tab 10.1/hotspot bundle, which may not be a bad deal for folks that need on-the-go tablet connectivity and were planning to get the Samsung slate anyway.
