Earlier this month Sony Ericsson announced that all of their Xperia devices released in 2011 would be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich. Great news, right? Unfortunately, there was no mention of exactly when the updates might begin flowing. It looks like Xperia owners may now have a semi-precise window of time to look forward to, though, as Maurizio De Palma, head of marketing at Sony Ericsson, has said on the company's official Facebook page that the Android 4.0 updates should begin arriving by March.
Although there are still some question marks surrounding De Palma's statement, like how it devices in the U.S. may be affected, it's still noteworthy considering that it's one of the most specific ICS update timeframes that we've heard so far. Of course, delays and the like do happen, but for now we'll keep an eye on March and hope that everything runs smoothly and that more details come out soon.
