It begins! Today Sprint sent out invites for an event that it'll be hosting on January 10th, which just so happens to be the very first day of a little trade show by the name of CES. Sprint's the first carrier to issue invitations to such an event at CES and, although the image doesn't really offer any clues as to what Dan Hesse and Co. may have up its sleeve for the gathering, the fact that that we're urged to "Save-the-date!" for this "exclusive event" definitely has us intrigued.

So what might Sprint be planning? Well, in the past there would probably be some folks shouting "OMGiPHONEONSPRINT," but we can probably rule that out since the iPhone 4 and 4S hit the Now Network last month. It wouldn't be much of a shock to see something Android-related at the Sprint shindig, and the whole origami theme of the invite is pretty interesting, but for the time being that's about all we've got. The good news is that since we're still about a month and a half out from CES, there's plenty of time for stuff to leak and get us even more excited for the show.
