How does a quad-core HTC phone and tablet combo sound to you? Good, because that's precisely what the Taiwanese firm will be introducing at Mobile World Congress, according to a report from the Commercial Times. The story goes that HTC is currently planning to take the wraps off of an Nvidia quad-core-powered (aka Tegra 3) Android tablet and smartphone at MWC in February, the latter of which could be the Edge that leaked out a week ago. As for launch details, the Commercial Times believes that the tablet may launch before the end of Q3 2012 but made no mention of the smartphone's release. The report also alleges that HTC will unveil a second, non-quad-core Android phone at MWC, which may be the HTC Ville that we saw leak last week.
Considering that we expect to begin seeing Tegra 3 Android tablets before this year is up, it wouldn't be a surprise to see HTC unveil a pair of devices packing Nvidia's latest and greatest at MWC. There may not be many other details available about the products right now, but it's worth noting that HTC CEO Peter Chou said last week that his company is interested in crafting a tablet that'll help it "stand out" in the market, so it should be interesting to see what HTC can come up with to avoid releasing a "me-too product."
