This past week we saw HTC take the wraps off of the Rezound, a handset that's packing a 4.3-inch display at a resolution of 1280x720. HTC isn't the only manufacturer doing 720p phones, though, and today we're getting a peek at Sony Ericsson's crack at such a device. Codenamed Nozomi and featuring the model number LT26i, the Xperia-branded phone you see above includes a 4.3-inch 1280x720 like the Rezound, but that's not the only drool-worthy spec on its feature list. Alongside the high-res display, the LT26i is said to have a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a full gig of RAM, a front-facing camera, and Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread. There's also a strip of snazzy blue LEDs along the bottom of the device.
Sounds like a pretty nice little handset, no? The fact that the LT26i is currently packing Gingerbread is kind of a bummer, but even if it does make it to market with 2.3 in tow, this seems like the type of hardware that could easily have an update to Ice Cream Sandwich in its future. There's no telling when or if we'll see the LT26i on U.S. shores, but hey, it certainly can't hurt to hope. And maybe cross our fingers and toes just to be safe.
