Last month the iPhone 4S made its way to Sprint, delighting customers that had been lusting after Apple's handsets in the past but were unwilling to leave the Now Network. Unfortunately for those users, the iPhone 4S and Sprint's network don't seem to be totally jelling just yet, as many iPhoners are reporting slow data speeds when connected to Sprint 3G. In an interview with CNET, Fared Adib, vice president of product development at Sprint, confirmed that the carrier is looking into the issue. "We're taking the reports of problems from a small number of customers seriously," Adib said. "There's nothing of significance to report yet." Adib added that Sprint is having a hard time replicating the issue but that once a fix is found, it'll let us know.

Although data speeds on CDMA 3G networks like Sprint and Verizon are typically slower than what you'd find on GSM 3G networks like AT&T and T-Mobile, the speeds that many Sprint iPhone owners have encountered are pretty sluggish even for CDMA. The good news here is that Sprint is investigating the problem, and considering how big a seller the iPhone has been for the Now Network, you can bet that they want to get a solution out there as quickly as possible.
