Over the weekend, we saw a handful of photos and images of new Motorola products, including a pair of new Xoom-branded tablets, make their way online. Now the two slates have returned for another appearance in front of the camera, standing side-by-side together in the wild. As you can see above and below, we've got the smaller 8.2-inch model (reportedly dubbed Xoom 2 Media Edition) on the left while the 10.1-incher is resting on the right. Engadget's source claims that both models carry the codename "Fleming," which one would think could make for some annoying mix-ups in the labs. The tipster goes on to say that they both also feature Android 3.2, LTE connectivity, and 5-megapixel HD cameras around back. One other characteristic that the two slates are said to share? They're described as "buggy as all hell," meaning we may still be a ways off from seeing these new tablets hit the market.
The fact that Motorola is cranking away at a successor to the original Xoom doesn't come as much of a shock, but hey, it's good news for anyone pining for a new and improved version of the first Honeycomb tablet. Meanwhile, the Xoom 2 is interesting because it offers up an 8.2-inch screen that's almost smack dab in the middle of the 7 and 10.1-inch displays that we see so much of in the tablet realm. Which of Moto's two new slates do you think you'd prefer?
