Ever since the mythical Verizon iPhone finally landed earlier this year, folks have been wondering when Apple's smartphone would finally be making its way to the nation's other major CDMA carrier, Sprint. Earlier this year we heard some rumors and rumblings suggesting that 2011 may be the year of the Sprint iPhone, and today the Wall Street Journal is reporting that that is indeed the case. According to the publication's "sources familiar with the matter," Sprint will begin offering the new iPhone alongside Verizon and AT&T in mid-October. Sprint will also release an iPhone 4 compatible with its network at the same time as the iPhone 5 launch, a tipster has told the WSJ.
Earlier today Reuters alleged that the iPhone 5 would be coming in late September, a claim that this report from the Wall Street Journal seems to contradict. Many recent reports have been pointing toward an October launch for the iPhone 5, although it's possible that we could see Apple unveil the new smartphone in September and then wait until early October to actually release it. At this point, the only thing that seems like a certainty is that this won't be the last iPhone 5 rumor we hear before its launch. What do you all think? Will Sprint land the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 in October? Go ahead and drop your thoughts, opinions, hopes, dreams, and whatever else you feel like sharing in the comments below.
