Motorola DROID HD may be codenamed "Spyder"

Earlier this week we saw the first photos of the Motorola DROID HD appear and make everyone planning on picking up a DROID Bionic reconsider their plans. Upon seeing the images, some folks suggested that the DROID HD may be the Moto Dinara that we caught wind of last month, but a report out of Droid-Life today claims that that's not actually the case. According to the site's sources, the DHD features the codename Motorola Spyder and is more of sibling to the Photon 4G. The tipsters went on to say that the DROID HD has a "different" display and a camera with fewer megapixels than the Dinara.

So what does all this mean for the Dinara? Well, Droid-Life's sources claim that it's currently being tested on Verizon's LTE airwaves, but there are also rumblings that the Dinara could eventually show up on AT&T's shelves as one of its first LTE smartphones. One thing that we know for sure is that we're going to continue to keep our eyes peeled for the Spyder/DROID HD and Dinara going forward, because this almost assuredly won't be the last time we see either device in the news. Stay tuned!
