Been wondering when you'll be able to snatch up AT&T's very first LTE-enabled devices? The wait is nearly over, as AT&T announced today that its USBConnect Momentum 4G and Mobile Hotspot Elevate 4G will both be launching this Sunday, August 21st, for $49.99 and $69.99. Both require a two-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate. The downside, of course, is that you won't have an LTE network to use them on, as AT&T has yet to commit to a start date for LTE network roll out. Both devices are able to fall back on AT&T's HSPA+ network when you're out of LTE range, though, so they won't be totally useless when the launch this weekend. When AT&T's LTE network does finally go live, we've been told to expect data to be priced at $50 per month for 5GB of usage, with an overage fee of $10 per gigabyte.

AT&T also announced that its USBConnect Adrenaline will be eligible for an upgrade to support LTE connectivity beginning August 26th. The software update will be available right here.

It may seem kind of strange that AT&T is launching LTE-capable products before getting its LTE network up and running, but I suppose the good news here is that buyers of the Elevate 4G and Momentum 4G will be able to ride the LTE airwaves the day that AT&T flips that switch. That is, of course, if those owners live in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio, the first five markets that'll get AT&T LTE later this summer.
