Sprint last month pledged to continue to allow the easy removal of bloatware on its Android devices in the future, a practice that started on the EVO 3D and made quite a few consumers happy. The carrier recently reiterated its stance on preinstalled — and usually unremovable — software, with VP of Product Development Fared Adib telling Engadget that Sprint plans to reduce the amount of bloatware found on its devices going forward. Adib also said that he's working to make it so that what apps do come preinstalled on Sprint products can be easily removed by the end user.
Many Android users have pretty strong feelings about bloatware, so it's pretty awesome to see Sprint responding to its customers and working to reduce the amount of preinstalled software on its devices and even make some of it uninstallable. Now we just have to wait and see if other carriers follow Sprint's lead. Anyone think it'll happen?
