After a bevy of leaks revealed just about everything there is to know about the Motorola DROID 3, Verizon finally made the device official this morning. There aren't any surprises to be found here, so those of you hoping for a last-minute addition of 4G LTE are out of luck, but anyone jonesing for an Android phone with a QWERTY keyboard on Verizon can now order the DROID 3 online for $199.99 with a two-year contract or $459.99 full retail. Other specs include a 4-inch 540x960 display, dual-core 1GHz processor, 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and 1080p video capture, front-facing camera, 16GB of storage, GSM capabilities for global use, and Mobile Hotspot functionality with support for up to five devices. If you prefer the instant gratification that the brick and mortar experience brings, you'll be able to pick up the DROID 3 in Verizon stores "by July 14th."
There you have it. It's kind of strange to see Verizon make the DROID 3 official without much fanfare, but all that matters now is that we can finally get our hands on that five-row keyboard after months of drooling from afar. So now that the D3 is finally up for grabs, anyone already plunked down the cash for one or plan to soon?

DROID 3 by Motorola is now available online at www.verizonwireless.com, and will be available in Verizon Wireless Communication Stores by July 14 for $199.99 with a new two-year customer agreement.
Customers that purchase a DROID 3 will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan and a smartphone data package. New Verizon Wireless customers will have the option of smartphone plans starting at $30 for 2GB of data. Current Verizon Wireless smartphone customers who are upgrading their smartphone can keep their current data plan.
