Family data plans that can be shared across multiple devices have been a hot topic as of late, with most of the major carriers hinting toward a move to shared data. Verizon CFO Fran Shammo recently revealed that his carrier plans to introduce family data "mega-plans" sometime in the future, and now reports have emerged suggesting that Big Red may soon be making some plan changes that pave the way for those family data packs.
As you can see in the internal screenshot above, there is an option to "Share Data" up at the top as well as a "Family Share" tab below that. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of information available about either option as the data allotments and pricing in the image above seem to be tied to the "Single Line" tab. As for when we could see these changes go public, the folks at Phone Arena are hearing that June 26th might be the day, while Droid-Life claims that the changes may not go live until after Verizon's free 4G LTE hotspot promo ends on July 6th.
After Verizon CFO Fran Shammo's comments last month, many have been wondering exactly when Big Red was planning to implement its shared family data "mega-plans." Although it's not yet guaranteed that we'll begin to see these changes appear later this month or early next month, it certainly sound like the plans aren't too far off.
