Well, this is interesting. A mysterious LG-made Android phone with T-Mobile branding was recently spotted by the folks at Pocket-lint during an Orange/Kineto Wireless party. When the device is slid open, we're treated to a split physical QWERTY keyboard with a small touchscreen smack dab in the middle of it. The smaller display looks to be used for quick access to eight of the owner's commonly used apps. Unfortunately, there's not much else known about this mystery phone right now, including what its name is. According to Pocket-lint, though, a rep referred to it as the "Flip II," a name which appeared on a recently-leaked T-Mobile roadmap with a launch date of September 14th. Another possibility is that this is the LG Maxx Q, which also makes an appearance on that T-Mo roadmap.
Although I'll have to reserve judgment on this handset until I can actually try it myself, it looks like a unique little phone that could do well as long as LG slaps a decent keyboard on it and makes using that secondary display worthwhile. What do you all think of this device? Think it's something that you'd consider picking up?
