RIM hasn't yet told us exactly when the BlackBerry Bold 9900 will launch, saying only that it would be arriving sometime this summer. According to a report from BGR, though, the touch-enabled Bold is still a few months away from hitting the shelves. The site has been told by "multiple sources" that the 9900 will be launching globally in September, although an exact date wasn't mentioned. BGR has also heard that RIM have one more major OS release up its sleeve, which may be BlackBerry 7.5, before it launches any QNX-powered smartphones.
Although RIM never committed to launching the Bold 9900 any time within the next month or two, it'll be kind of a bummer if the handset doesn't arrive until September. Not only are we eager to get our paws on the newest BlackBerry hotness, but a September launch also means that the 9900 could end up having some of its thunder stolen by the possible announcement of Apple's next iPhone. How many of you are looking forward to the Bold 9900? Are you willing to wait until September to pick one up?
