HotelTonight is a relatively new iOS app, having just launched in January, whose purpose is help you find a last-minute deal on a hotel room on the same day that you're looking for one. The company just got a $3.25 million round of funding led by Battery Ventures, and Accel Partners, First Round Capital, as well as several other investors. What exactly does HotelTonight plan to do with its newly-acquired capital? It'll be using it to expand to new mobile platforms and markets, add new features, and support marketing campaigns.
Since its debut earlier this year, the HotelTonight app has been downloaded over 300,000 times and was dubbed one of Time's "Top 25 Essential Apps for Travelers." Right now the app offers hotel rooms in New York City, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Seattle, Dallas, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Denver, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles, although the firm promises that more areas will be added soon.
