No new iPhone in June or July, AT&T rep claims

There have already been several reports claiming that the iPhone 5 will be a no-show at this year's Worldwide Developers Conference, debuting instead in September, and today we've got another to add to the pile. According to an AT&T representative speaking with a MacRumors reader, Apple has officially told Ma Bell that there will be no new iPhone in June/July, but that a new version will be coming "in the future." The full statement from the rep:

"Apple has informed us that they do not plan to release the iPhone in the June to July timeframe, though there will be a newer version in the future. Unfortunately, we have not been given a release time for the new phone. We will release this information on our website when it is available to us."

Normally we don't put a ton of faith in unconfirmed info coming from carrier reps, especially when it comes to unannounced devices like the iPhone. Considering all of the other reports of a September reveal for Apple's next handset, though, it's looking increasingly likely that the rep's claim is accurate. Those of you with contracts ending in the next few months, will you be waiting around until September to check out the new iPhone before upgrading or are you not interested in postponing your new device purchase that long?
