Good news, Nexus One and Nexus S owners! Google just announced that it will begin rolling out Android 2.3.4 "over the next few weeks" and, while the Nexus One will be getting some bug fixes alongside the update, Nexus S owners have something even bigger to look forward to: video chat. Yes, the ability to do Gtalk voice and video chat over 3G/4G and WiFi will be included in the Nexus S's 2.3.4 update, with the feature rolling out to other Android 2.3 devices sometime "in the future." Check out a short introduction to Gtalk video chat embedded below.
Many expected that Gtalk voice/video chat would be rolling out to Android devices sooner or later, so the feature itself isn't terribly surprising, but it's definitely great to finally see it here. We'll be sure to let you know when Android 2.3.4 actually begins making its way to devices in the wild but, in the mean time, feel free to drop your answer to the following question in the comment section: how many of you think that you would use Gtalk voice/video chat on a regular basis?
