HTC ThunderBolt, T-Mobile G2, DROID Incredible, and EVO 4G. What do all of these devices have in common, besides the fact that they're made by HTC? They're all rumored to be getting an update to Android 2.3, aka Gingerbread, sometime before the end of June. Today we can add another device to that list, as our friends at TmoNews have been handed a screenshot which purportedly shows an HTC representative revealing that the myTouch 4G will be updated to Gingerbread in Q2. There's no mention of exactly when the update will arrive, but TmoNews has heard that myTouch 4G-toting T-Mobile sales reps will be testing 2.3 over the next few weeks and that the new software could launch shortly after the test period ends.
Considering that several of HTC's other high-end Android phones are rumored to be getting an update to Gingerbread in Q2, it doesn't come as much of a surprise that the myTouch 4G could be given the same treatment. When it'll actually arrive is anyone's guess, but you can be sure that we'll let you know more when we do.
