We've heard rumors that a Sprint-branded Motorola XOOM was on the horizon, and tonight those claims got a bit more traction. The folks at BGR were just handed some photos that show that cases for the XOOM have begun making their way to Sprint stores, although there's still no word on when we can expect the WiMAX-powered slate to actually land on shelves.
With Sprint's recent announcements of the WiMAX-enabled BlackBerry PlayBook and HTC EVO View 4G, and now the evidence that a Motorola XOOM is indeed making its way to the Now Network, it certainly seems like the No. 3 carrier is doing all it can to aggressively build out its tablet offerings. Considering that Sprint will be launching its version of the XOOM later than Verizon pushed out their model, hopefully the former will come with WiMAX capabilities out of the box rather than forcing owners to ship the device back to Moto to activate its 4G powers. So now that it looks likely that Sprint will be getting a XOOM to call their own, would you rather own their version or an LTE model on Verizon?
