HTC rep: ThunderBolt to get Android 2.3 in Q2

The HTC ThunderBolt may have only been launched a little over a week ago, but its update to Android 2.3 may be right around the corner. One TBolt user recently reached out to HTC about an issue he was having with his handset and, in the company's response, the rep revealed that the ThunderBolt is slated to be updated to Gingerbread "in Q2 2011." There was also a list of enhancements that the rep claims will be included in the update, but it looks pretty similar to Google's own 2.3 change log, leading many to believe that the rep may have just copy and pasted it into the email.

Although many of us were kind of surprised that the ThunderBolt didn't launch with Android 2.3 preinstalled, it is one of Verizon and HTC's flagship products, so it should be one of the first devices in line to get updated to Gingerbread. When in Q2 that'll happen is still up in the air, but I'm sure there'll be plenty of release date rumors to keep us on our toes.
