Apple will unveil the iPad 2 in just a few hours, meaning we've got a little time to squeeze in more rumors about the device before it's all nice and official. The mockups you see above and below were posted over at DGtle and, while they certainly seem to fit the descriptions of the iPad 2 that we've been hearing for months, even they aren't positive whether or not they're real. The model number and FCC ID belong to the original Apple TV and a WiFi-only iPad, respectively, but that could simply be because these are mockups are just that. As for all of the features found on the device, there's the new speaker, front and rear cameras, thinner frame, and a SIM card slot in the place that was originally thought to be meant for an SD card. Also, the white 3G antenna is expected to be black when the device launches.
While it's entirely possible that these mockups are the real deal, and I'm sure many wouldn't be surprised if they were, they could've been put together just by gathering all of the iPad 2 rumors around the Internet and mashing them together. Luckily, we don't have to wait much longer to see the real deal unveiled by Apple. We'll be bringing you all of the information from today's event as it happens, so keep it locked to PhoneDog.
