Earlier today, AT&T announced that the Samsung Captivate would finally be upgraded to Android 2.2 starting tomorrow. The Captivate's not the only device on AT&T's roster getting bumped up to Froyo, though, as Dell just announced that the AT&T-branded Streak is getting moved to 2.2, as well. Dell says that Streak users should begin being notified of the update soon and that, once it's installed, owners will be greeted with the company's Stage UI, Flash compatibility, and several other new features.
While I'm sure that Froyo has lost some of its luster thanks to the introduction of Honeycomb as well as all of the times that the Streak's 2.2 update has been teased, then pushed back, but it's still nice to finally see the upgrade arrive. Unfortunately, it's not clear if the Streak will be updated any further thanks to the shuffle of new products like the Streak 7 and others spotted in a recently-leaked roadmap. Enjoy your time in the update sun, Streak owners, and be sure to let us know how everything is running once you get Froyo installed on your device.
