You knew this day would come. Whether you like iOS, Apple, or Steve Jobs or not, you have to admit that the iPhone is one darn good smartphone. We at PhoneDog certainly think so, so we've put it at number one on our list of the best smartphones from Verizon. Yes, the Verizon version technically still has the "Death Grip" issue, but since the antenna has been redesigned and those annoying little seams are at the top of the device instead of the bottom, it shouldn't bug too many people.
Ever since the iPhone was first released, iOS has long been the standard for performance. It's smoothness, ease-of-use, and widespread appeal is second to none, depending on who you talk to, and is certainly what made it king for so long in the market. The Verizon version has its limitations - CDMA means no surfing the web while you're on a phone call, and no overseas roaming - however, this version has the same sleek design, amazing camera, and of course, the apps.
Along with the iPhone, the Droid 2 Global now has a new spot on our list. The Droid 2 Global has the huge advantage of being a global phone (duh) meaning you can use it pretty much anywhere in the world. Along with that, you still have the same great QWERTY keyboard and 1 GHz processor. MotoBlur may not be to everyone's liking, but this phone is still one of the best and should appeal to anyone on Verizon seeking a phone with a physical keyboard.
