Samsung Galaxy Indulge for MetroPCS landing this week

Making it official this morning, MetroPCS has announced that they will be selling the wireless carrier's first commercially available 4G LTE smartphone by the end of the week. Samsung is the carrier's answer for a 4G device yet again, with the Samsung Galaxy Indulge put into the hotseat. The device falls in line with the other Galaxy S devices at least in aesthetics, even if the screen's size falls to "only" 3.5-inches, versus the seemingly standard 4-inch size of the other devices. There's a 1GHz processor under the hood, a 3MP auto-focus camera around back, and Android 2.2 is running the show. Samsung was nice enough to include a 4GB microSD card out of the box, but the handset can support up to 32GB if you so desire.

The Samsung Galaxy Indulge will run for $399 without a contract, which is a good price for the handset. Especially with the absence of a two-year commitment, and the $50 unlimited plans. As is mentioned above, MetroPCS will officially launch the handset by the end of the week, so if you find yourself in an area underneath the wireless carrier's (relatively small) coverage area, take a peek at the Indulge and find out if it's your next phone. And, while the coverage map may not be as impressive as Verizon's 4G LTE, at least MetroPCS can boast they beat the larger carrier to the first commercially avaialble LTE-based Android handset. That has to count for something, right?
