LG is promising to take us "Into a New Dimension" at Mobile World Congress next month, but we may not have to wait for their event to get a look at what they're likely going to unveil. The folks over at Phandroid have been sent the image you see above and, while they're not completely positive about this claim, they believe that it's the LG Optimus 3D that LG will announce next month. There's little known about the handset right now, but the source says that the screen is larger than 4 inches, it has a dual-core processor and multi-channel RAM, and that there's a front-facing camera to the right of LG's logo.
The Optimus 3D isn't the only mysterious LG device making the rounds this morning, though, as the G-Slate has also popped up online. The tablet was recently spotted in another YouTube video, this time on the channel of user MysteryGuitarMan. There's not much to glean from the video, but there does appear to be a metallic "With Google" strip like on the Optimus 2X and an LED flash, as well. The original video has since been made private, but the G-Slate's appearance has been saved and can be seen below.
It's kind of tough to tell if either device is actually the product in question, although that's especially true for the Optimus 3D. After all, you can't really know if it has a 3D display from a 2D photo on the Internet. Still, it looks and sounds like a pretty high-end device, and that large display (I'm guessing 4.3-inches) will be good for watching 3D content. I'm still not sure that I'm completely sold on the idea of a phone with a 3D display, but I'll wait until I can actually try it out before making any final judgments. What about you? Would you consider buying a 3D phone?
UPDATE: Boy, LG is getting fast at this. After the first photo of the Optimus 3D leaked this morning, the company has now made it official. The device features a dual-lens camera capable of 3D recording, a display that can show glasses-free 3D content, and HDMI/DLNA for sharing that 3D content. More should be revealed at MWC, but in the mean time, the press release is below.
