One week after releasing the first beta of iOS 4.3 to developers, Apple has followed up with the second beta and some disappointing iPad news, as well. First up, the new beta is build number 8F5153d, compared to the first beta's number of 8F5148b. No new features have been found in beta 2, although the beta 1 included new features like AirPlay for third-party apps, WiFi hotspot, the ability to change the iPad's side switch functionality, and the ability to use four and five-finger multitouch gestures on the iPad. Unfortunately, Apple has said those very multi-touch gestures "will not be enabled in iOS 4.3 for customers," and that they're only being included in the betas to get developer feedback.
Apple seems to be making good progress with iOS 4.3, and if they keep up this schedule, it seems pretty safe to assume that we'll see iOS 4.3 released alongside the VeriPhone in the middle of next month or shortly thereafter. I just hope AT&T will allow its iPhone users to take advantage of the Personal Hotspot right away rather than making them wait like they did with tethering. How many of you iPhone owners will use the hotspot feature when it's made available? For those of you that have another hotspot-capable device, how often do you use it?
