Have a U.S. Cellular Android phone and want to know when your particular device will get updated to Android 2.2? I don't blame you. Luckily, today the carrier posted a schedule showing just when each of their Android handsets will be upgraded. The breakdown looks like this:
- Samsung Acclaim: "By the end of next week"
- HTC Desire: "By the end of this month"
- LG Apex: "Around March"
- Samsung Mesmerize: "Around March"
We usually don't get word on when an entire carrier's Android lineup will get upgraded, especially at once, so it's great to see U.S. Cellular clue us in, especially considering they've got devices from multiple carriers. Sure, it may not be Gingerbread, but an upgrade to Froyo is certainly better than nothing. Plus, with word that the Mesmerize will be updated to 2.2 around March, maybe we can look forward other Galaxy S devices will be upgraded around the same time. We can only hope.
