The Nexus S is one of the hottest new Android phones on the block, but if you want to buy one you have to go to Best Buy, as T-Mobile isn't offering the device in their stores. Now it sounds like it's been even harder to pick up a Nexus S, as Best Buy's T-Mobile new line activation system has been having problems for just about a week. According to a tipster speaking to BGR, at least one Best Buy store admitted to being unable to activate a Nexus S with a new T-Mo line, meaning that customers can only purchase the handset for the full retail price. A number of commenters have said that they, too, have been having activation problems at their local BBYs.
It's not really clear what's causing the problem just yet, although many are speculating that the issue is arising at Best Buy stores that normally don't sell T-Mobile products. Whatever the issue, it sounds like something that could end up hurting Nexus S sales if it keeps up too long. A lot of the customers that are likely to purchase the Nexus S are probably phone enthusiasts, but even then, I'm not sure how many potential customers will want to pay $530 for the device. Best Buy hasn't commented on the issue yet, but we'll let you know when/if they do. Have any of you had any issues when trying to purchase T-Mobile phones at your local Best Buy?
