The puzzle pieces are slowly coming together, folks. After HTC's mysterious Android-related packages, Verizon's tweet hinting at 4G Androids at CES, and the multitude of leaks surrounding the Thunderbolt, Verizon has sent invites to a press conference at CES on January 6th. It's been confirmed that Big Red will be previewing Android devices that will run on its new LTE network, although the carrier wasn't specific about which devices will be on display.
It seems pretty obvious at this point that the Thunderbolt will finally be revealed by Verizon at CES, and I'm sure we'll see the Motorola Stingray tablet, too. A lot of people have taken this news as meaning that there will be no Verizon iPhone announcement at CES, but it's important to remember that we've known for a while that this particular event would be Android-focused. The rumors surrounding the CDMA iPhone claimed that CEO Ivan Seidenberg would unveil the device during his CES keynote, so it's still possible that the iBigRedPhone will still show up. I don't think it'll happen, though, as I can't believe that Steve Jobs will let anyone else announce one of his products, especially one that's as anticipated as the Verizon iPhone. If anything, Apple will likely hold its own event later in January to show the device off. Even without a CDMA iPhone, though, CES is still going to be chock full of exciting devices like the HTC Thunderbolt, so be sure to stay tuned for all of our coverage of the big event!
