After Sprint pushed out the Android 2.2 update for the Samsung Intercept last week, many Epic 4G owners were left wondering when they'd get their own heaping helping of Froyo. It doesn't look like they'll be waiting long, according to some new information that's leaked to Android Central, as the Epic 4G is slated to begin receiving the update to 2.2 (DL11) on December 26th. The roll out is slated to take about four days, and when you get it will depend on your "status with the Google servers."
Epic owners already got a small taste of Froyo a few weeks ago, but Sprint alerted everyone that that particular update was not official. Getting the legit upgrade would be a nice late Christmas present from Sprint and Samsung, though, even if it's no Gingerbread. Considering how long Epic owners have been stuck with Android 2.1, I'm sure they'll take any update that will be given to them.
UPDATE: The folks at Phone Arena was sent the photo you see below, which is an internal Sprint memo announcing that the Epic will be getting Froyo starting on December 26th. Your time is almost here, Epic owners!
