Commitment-Phobe's Journey: 'Tis the season apps

Now that my toddler is getting older and wiser, I have realized that last minute holiday planning and festivities are no longer going to cut it.  So in the midst of enjoying our relaxing and cozy Thanksgiving, I was already brainstorming on fun and creative ways to get our family into the ho-ho-holiday spirit.  Since running out to Target or the mall wasn’t really feasible or ideal, I turned to my Palm Pre, which offered an easy, at-home solution.  After sorting through the App Catalog, I uncovered two great apps that are sure to get the yuletides going.

The first app is a must have and it’s Holiday Music by Hewlett-Packard.  This app offers a music collection like none other.  With a vast number of holiday playlists featuring thousands of songs in total, there is sure to be something for everyone.  Holiday Music includes classics, current releases, children’s songs, a top 100 list and so much more.  At $1.99 (or $0.99 if you were lucky enough to come across it in time for the Black Friday sale), it is far less expensive than any holiday CD I’ve ever bought and allowed each member of my family to enjoy their own idea of holiday cheer.  I started this app up on Black Friday and will surely find hours of use for it throughout December.

Another fun and festive app is the Advent Calendar by Tamoggemon, Ltd.  Open this app each day from December 1 through December 24 for a fun Christmas countdown packed with jokes and more.  At the price of free, even Scrooge could check this app out.

So whether you are Martha Stewart, Scrooge or anyone in between, the App Catalog is sure to provide easy and painless ways to get you and your family into the holiday spirit.
