It was definitely nice to see the PlayStation Phone appear in a short spy video the other day, but let's face it: that video was so unclear that it made even Mr. Blurrycam blush. Luckily, a new PlayStation Phone video appeared on YouTube, and the difference between the two is like night and day. In the nearly two-minute clip, we're treated to a tour of both the hardware, including an extensive look at the control pad, as well as the Android OS, which the device's About screen reports is Gingerbread. Around the back, you can see that there's an LED flash along with the camera. Also of note is the "PlayStation" app in the app drawer. Check out the full clip below.
This is the best look at the PlayStation Phone we've had yet, and things are looking good to me. Everything seemed to be moving smoothly while the user was moving throughout the OS and the sliding mechanism looks solid. One thing I noticed in the clip is that the OS on the device seemed to be sporting a little less green than we've seen in Gingerbread in the past, most notably in the signal strength indicator and the Phone and Browser icons. This could be due to a slightly older/tweaked build of the OS, the video quality, my eyesight, or a combination of the three, but it's worth pointing out anyway. So now that we've got a good, hard look of the PlayStation Phone in action, how many of you will be lining up in February to get your game on?
