Today is a big day in mobile history, as Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 is officially on sale here in the U.S. Google is contributing to the today's launch with a Google Search app for WP7 devices that offers similar functionality to the Search app found on other platforms, including search suggestions, location-based searches, etc. The Google Search app is a free download in the Marketplace and available right now.
While Windows Phone 7 is obviously going to be very Bing-centric, it's nice to see the Google Search app if you're not in love with Microsoft's own search engine. Google's integration with the OS probably won't be as deep as Bing's goes, but if you pin Google's app to your home screen, you'll never be far away from the big G. Any of you out there picking up a Windows Phone 7 device today, be sure to let us know how everything is, both with your new handset and the free Google Search app!
