On their September 1st event, Apple announced that iOS 4.2 would be coming to all of their iDevices in November. After releasing the first 4.2 beta in mid-September, Apple is right on track with their original claim, releasing the final, gold master version of iOS 4.2 today. We don't know exactly when the final version of 4.2 will arrive, but now that the GM build is out, the retail version should be coming any day now.
iOS 4.2 contains a lot of features that iPad users are excited about, most notably the ability to multitask and take advantage of folders. Other enhancements that will be coming to all eligible iOS devices include printing and AirPlay. There haven't been any surprises so far, but if you're a developer and install the iOS 4.2 GM, be sure to come back and let us know what you find, ok?
