The mythical white iPhone 4 has had a long, delay-filled life, and now we can add another chapter to its legacy. Apple announced today that the white version of the iPhone 4, originally announced at the beginning of June, has been delayed until the spring of 2011. Apple spokesperson Trudy Muller had this to say: "We're sorry to disappoint customers waiting for the white iPhone again." When asked why the albino iPhone had been delayed, Muller declined to comment.
After it was announced, the white iPhone was slated to arrive later in the summer, then it was promised to arrive at the end of July, then it was delayed until later this year, and now it's been pushed back until spring 2011. The handset was allegedly spotted in New York City recently, and most of you said that you had given up waiting on the white iPhone and picked up the black model instead. By the time that the white iPhone 4 lands, we'll likely only be a few months out from the iPhone 5, so I'm not completely sure why Apple hasn't given up at this point. Perhaps they're waiting to make the Verizon iPhone white? Considering how long people have been waiting for both the white iPhone and the Verizon iPhone, putting them together into one handset would certainly be a big deal. We may not know Apple's plans for the white/Verizon iPhone, but if you've held out this long without throwing in the towel, I salute you.
