Nokia may have recently released the shiny new Symbian^3-powered N8, but not all is going well in Symbian World. Lee Williams, Executive Director of the Symbian Foundation, has decided to leave the company for "personal reasons." Former CFO Tim Holbrow has been appointed as the new Executive Director.
Symbian has been having a bit of bad luck recently, with Symbian Guru abandoning the platform and the N8 receiving lukewarm reviews, mostly due to complaints with the software. It'd be interesting to learn exactly why Williams decided to leave Symbian, but I'm not so sure that that information will ever come out. In the mean time, we'll have to see how well the N8 sells before we make any judgments and begin to look forward to the N9 and MeeGo.
