HTC loves both Windows Phone 7 and Android, no favorite yet

When a manufacturer like HTC is offering multiple mobile operating systems on their handsets (Windows Mobile, Windows Phone 7, and Android), it makes you wonder who they favor. According to Peter Chou, the CEO of HTC, they love both mobile platforms equally. Yesterday at a conference in Taipei Chou stated, "Right now we have Windows Phone 7 and Android, and focus the same on each, but let the market decide."

HTC has a long history with Microsoft as they first caught public eye with their first Microsoft powered phones back in 2002. It wasn't until 2008 that HTC took on Android while it was still young and caught the wave early. They have been riding that wave all through this Android explosion and have gained a lot of respect and notability over the past two years with their superior build quality and countless flagship devices. Rather than scrapping the company that gave them their big break and running with a single platform, HTC is taking on WP7 and Android with equivalent focus on each. Both platforms have unrestricted potential, and HTC recognizes that. Can I get a golf clap for the Taiwanese manufacturer that we all love so much?
