No, not that kind of BLUR. What you see above is the LG Optimus S, a low-end device meant for newer smartphone buyers. The Optimus S is sporting a 600 MHz processor, 3.2-inch full touch display, 3.2 megapixel camera, and, most importantly, Android 2.2. Rumor has it that the Optimus S will be arriving on Sprint by the end of this month (which is beginning to look jam-packed with Android goodness) for $49.99 after the usual two-year contract and mail-in rebate.
LG seems to be taking a Samsung Galaxy S-type approach with the Optimus, as we've already seen a similar device leak for both T-Mobile and Verizon. With the EVO 4G, Epic 4G, Transform, and now the Optimus S, it definitely seems like Sprint is killing it lately with Android. Even though the Optimus S is definitely an entry-level type device, I'm glad to see Sprint continuing to add to their Android lineup. Besides, entry-level phones is exactly what Android needs to continue its monstrous growth in the market. If the OS continues to wow mainstream consumers, Android's climb to the top of the smartphone heap could be accelerated even further.
